What happens when you have the perfect picture in mind for your life and then everything blows in a fiery smoke? That’s burnout. Here’s my story of nearly drowning and learning how to swim.
I had a bad case of perfectionism. I lived my life according to a set of rules in an attempt to not have a BAD life.
And then all this chaos came. I actually can’t believe I’m still here to tell this to you but I’m glad I finally dropped the perfectionist in me.
I spiraled into depression.
I thought about killing myself.
I was in a mental hospital for nearly two weeks.
And I got burned out and quit counseling altogether, vowing to never return.
I was drowning and I am so grateful for it all. Why? Because it taught me how to swim through divorce, unemployment, and whatever else that pops up these days.
